Princess Alexandra Hospital is conveniently located in Harlow, Essex just 25 minutes drive to London Stansted Airport and 25 minutes train ride to London Liverpool Street. Harlow also has excellent road connections across England, with the M11, M25, A10, M1 and A1 all on its doorstep.
We are looking to appoint a pro-active, highly motivated individual to join our Cellular Pathology team as Office Manager. You will be expected to lead a team of medical secretaries and clerical officers to ensure the management of timely diagnostic reports for our cellular pathology service. You will work closely with the Lab Manager and Consultant team to ensure that all service requirements are met.
The successful candidate will require excellent typing skills and an understanding of medical terminology. You will need to have excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate that you can lead and motivate a team. You will need to liaise with clinicians at all levels and managers within the Trust and at external organisations. Time management skills are essential as you will need to balance the demands of a very busy workload.
The post holder will be expected to work independently to manage their own workloads in line with service requirements and local/national policies.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
